The Giants won the rubber game in the Dodgers series behind another brilliant performance by Jonathan Sanchez. He went seven scoreless innings, striking out nine, walking just one, and yielding only three hits.

Giants send Lincecum to the hill in test with Cubs

The San Francisco Giants like their chances of keeping pace in the NL West with Tim Lincecum set to take the hill tonight. Lincecum will shoot for his 12th win of the season in the second portion of a four-game series versus the Chicago Cubs at AT&T Park.

Lester’s gem leads reeling Red Sox past Giants 5-1

Jon Lester pitched a five-hitter, David Ortiz splashed a home run into McCovey Cove and the Boston Red Sox beat Tim Lincecum and the San Francisco Giants 5-1 Sunday. Lester put the Red Sox ahead for good with a sacrifice fly in the second inning. Adrian Beltre also homered and Marco Scutaro and Bill Hall each hit RBI singles as Boston took the series.
